We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team at Avient. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading and supporting continuous improvement processes, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement programs, procedures, and practices to promote a culture of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.
- Lead and participate in safety, health, and environmental continuous improvement initiatives.
- Create a strong work culture that emphasizes teamwork, continuous improvement, and employee development.
- Prepare and manage budgets, monitor expenses, and oversee annual plant and boiler shutdown activities.
- Provide technical support for maintenance functions, manage the Avient Reliability Program, and advise the plant-engineering group.
- Maintain plant engineering standards and compliance, drive cultural changes, and resolve personnel conflicts.
- Develop and implement systems to improve understanding of maintenance costs and utility measures, and support the plant's sustainability efforts.
- Oversee the daily operation of utilities systems, inspect and troubleshoot equipment, and manage engineering stores functions.
- BS/BA degree in a related technical field with 6 years of experience in industrial maintenance/construction or planning and scheduling; OR AA/AS in a related technical field with 7 years of experience in industrial maintenance/construction or planning and scheduling; OR 8 years of experience in industrial maintenance/construction, or design/CADD experience preferred.
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in a manufacturing facility in a maintenance department.
- Formal Lean and Six-Sigma training, including successful demonstration of implementation in a manufacturing environment, preferred.
- OSHA certification or training preferred.
- Leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization, customers, and suppliers.
- Knowledge of current Safety, Health, and Environmental regulations and standards.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to ensure visibility and leadership across a multi-shift operation.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is frequently required to walk, and occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
