Job Position

This Sr. Design Engineer position involves leading due diligence investigations and design engineering analyses for various retail, commercial, industrial, and residential site layouts.

Main Responsibilities
  • Review municipal zoning and land development ordinances to determine land development limitations for the property.
  • Prepare comprehensive Site Investigation and Due Diligence Reports to include the review of ordinances, utility service research, outside agency regulations and site visits.
  • Design Conceptual Site Plans, preliminary Grading Plans and Design.
  • Design Stormwater Management and Stormwater Conveyance Systems, Utility Systems and Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Design Plans.
  • Estimate construction costs, prepare project proposals and manage project budgets.
  • Coordinate projects with clients, consultants and project teams for comprehensive site plans.
  • Prepare technical reports including drainage, sanitary sewer and site investigation reports.
  • Correspond with outside agencies, clients, contractors etc.
  • Present to planning and zoning boards, municipal agencies and project teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3+ years' experience in Civil Site Engineering (residential, institutional, industrial, and/or commercial site design and permitting experience).
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) required, Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain personal/company vehicle.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and knowledge of Truck and Turning & Modeling software.
  • Familiarity with Hydrologic and Hydraulic and Stormwater Design.
  • Proficient grading and drainage design skills.
  • Experience with Utility design including pump station and force mains.
  • Dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionals.
  • Proficient in mapping websites for due diligence and site investigation purposes.
  • Construction support experience.
  • Proficient in design tools: AutoCAD Civil3D, Hydraflow, HydroCAD, PondPack, HEC-RAS.
  • Microsoft Software including Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.
  • Bluebeam Revu and/or Adobe for design document markups.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, critical thinking abilities.
  • Superior organizational delegation, team-oriented environment skills.
  • Client management experience.
