We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Data Platform team in Brazil (Remote). As a key member of this team, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining system components that enable data engineers and analysts to deliver business objectives.

The Data Platform Team utilizes open-source software, cloud infrastructure and services, and develops software to accomplish its mission. This team has diverse technical backgrounds, including software engineering, systems administration (Kubernetes), cloud infrastructure and services, data analysis, and data governance.

Our ideal candidate is an expert in software quality, security, and performance who can advocate for improvements and collaborate with Analytics Engineers and Data Analysts to drive efficiencies.

This role involves:

  • Advocating for software quality, security, and performance improvements.
  • Embracing the DataOps mindset to streamline and optimize repetitive tasks.
  • Collaborating with Analytics Engineers and Data Analysts to drive efficiencies for their work.
  • Providing tooling that improves the product development process and prevents failures.
  • Ensuring knowledge sharing through internal documentation and personal interaction.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
  • Solid experience with Python, Java, or similar programming languages.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases fundamentals and solid SQL skills (PostgreSQL preferred).
  • Familiarity with Kafka, Pulsar, or RabbitMQ (Kafka preferred).
  • Proficiency with Terraform, Pulumi, or Crossplane (Kubernetes experience desired).
  • Experience with distributed systems and data-intensive applications.
  • Knowledge of analytical data warehouses.
  • Genuine interest in big data applications and their technology trends.
