Job Overview

The Tech Lead is accountable for steering the technical direction and execution of software development for the digital solutions managed by a scrum team. This position encompasses the planning, design, leadership, and execution of technical strategies. The individual in this role will guide junior team members and recognize the strengths and weaknesses of the engineers on the team, while promoting technical development, experimentation, and innovation. The Tech Lead will collaborate with the business to assist a scrum team in achieving a balance between the timely delivery of business features, compliance mandates, and excellence in engineering practices such as SOLID architecture, test-driven development, deployment automation, and observability.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership - Act as a team leader with responsibilities that include coaching and mentoring developers. Establish a rapport with the developers and understand the strengths and weaknesses of each team member. Design - Formulate Architectural and Design solutions by utilizing the architectural design to guide the creation of software designs. Develop project-level technical designs using the appropriate software stack, patterns, technologies, and libraries. Collaboration - Partner with the business, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and other stakeholders on decisions regarding prioritization, execution, work allocation, sprint planning, and goal setting. Assist in clarifying the technical concerns of stakeholders including the business and the development team. Contextual Understanding - Maintain a comprehensive view of the applications owned by the team and how they integrate into the broader context of the software system. Leverage this perspective to provide technical guidance in terms of frameworks, practices, and code quality. Coding - Produce high-quality code as a model for the rest of the team. The primary contribution to the team is through coding. Technical Advancement - Stay informed on emerging technologies relevant to the owned applications. Attend conferences, follow industry leaders, and engage regularly with other tech leads and architects. Onboarding and Team Development - Assist in developing and maintaining onboarding processes and support the integration of new hires. Quality Ownership - Exhibit a strong sense of software craftsmanship. Take ownership of the applications, ensuring quality through the use of tools such as security analyzers, static code analysis, unit test threshold monitoring, and others. Review code changes made by developers and provide feedback based on best practices. Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience leading cross-functional teams, with the ability to mentor existing resources technically. At least 5 years of total software development experience.

Required Skills Strong .NET and C# proficiency ASP.Net and ASP.Net MVC (either .NET or .NET Core) Solid understanding of web development fundamentals such as HTTP verbs, cookie and state management, caching Strong grasp of Object-Oriented Programming principles Familiarity with design patterns Understanding of IOC/DI and experience with multiple frameworks is a plus Test Driven Development (TDD) SQL/ORMs knowledge Experience with packaging frameworks such as NPM, Yarn Proficiency with front-end frameworks/libraries such as Angular, Vue, React Desired Skills .NET Core experience Knowledge of container technologies, Docker and Kubernetes Familiarity with NoSQL databases Understanding of async programming Experience with Sitecore or other CMS Knowledge of JAMStack Familiarity with health observability tools - Dynatrace, Splunk
