We are seeking a skilled System Designer to join our team in the UAV Defence sector. As a key member of our development team, you will play a pivotal role in designing robust and scalable system architectures that meet the unique requirements of the defence industry.

About the Opportunity:

Our company is well-established with proven technologies that we are now adapting for innovative customers in the UAV Defence sector.

As a System Designer, you will collaborate closely with the Engineering lead, Product Owner, and development leads (AI, UX, Backend, Hardware) to ensure architectural integrity and feasibility.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Design end-to-end system architectures, ensuring they align with business needs and technology capabilities.
  • Analyze technical requirements from the defence sector and propose optimal architectural solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure architectural integrity and feasibility.
  • Document architectural decisions, patterns, and guidelines for development teams.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and frameworks suitable for defence applications.
  • Identify potential technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure designed solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, and maintainable.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a System Designer or senior technical design role.
  • Deep understanding of software architecture principles, patterns (e.g., microservices, event-driven), and best practices.
  • Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into technical designs.
  • Strong understanding of system integration, APIs, and data modeling.
  • Excellent technical documentation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Good understanding of robotics architecture.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience designing solutions for Defence, Aerospace, or high-security environments.
  • Experience adapting existing platforms or products for new verticals.
  • Knowledge of specific defence standards or security protocols.
  • Background in software development.
