Lead Data Technology and Platforms Team Member.
Serves as a leader for the Data Technology & Platforms team within an organization. The focus of this role will be to lead data management and engineering functions, collaborating with business and technology groups to provide data and analytics solutions and services aligned to the business strategy and needs.
Seeking a hands-on, data-driven, innovation-focused individual who will make a positive impact and maximize opportunities for using data consistently and effectively to generate analytics and insights.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate an excellent understanding of current trends in the data sciences field and be able to leverage them to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities- Leads the team responsible for developing data strategy, data architecture, data engineering, and data integration for the line of business.
- Provides vision and direction to resources focused on architecture, development, and maintenance of data pipelines, operational databases, and data lake infrastructures.
- Responsible for operational management of data assets and pipelines to ensure data is accurate, complete, and timely.
- Manages documentation and metadata of data assets and their representation within the Enterprise Data Catalog.
- Provides leadership to teams responsible for planning, building, and maintaining data and analytics capabilities to meet business needs.
- Partners and collaborates with line of business technology leaders, product owners, and other business stakeholders to develop and implement data solutions and services ensuring alignment and effectiveness.
- Leads and develops the team, ensuring effective day-to-day operations, change management, ensuring deadlines, service levels are met, sets objectives, defines career paths, provides learning and development opportunities, conducts performance reviews, and continually improves results.
- 15+ years of experience in data management or related technology solutions area with at least 8 years' experience in leadership roles.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Data Science, or related field is desirable.
- Strong data engineering skills with focus towards Microsoft Azure cloud technologies including SQL, Fabric, Synapse, ADF, Python, Power BI.
- Experience of defining or working within data governance frameworks and associated technologies.
- Candidate must have experience in data architecture, data management, or data science fields. Experience with BI and Analytics.
- Strong knowledge of data architecture, data integration, master data management, analytics, and their application to solve business needs/opportunities with ability to lead a team of highly skilled hands-on associates focused on collection, storage, management, quality, and protection of data for internal and external consumption.
- Expertise in evaluating both external and internal capabilities that are required to support the data solutions and services needs of the company.
- The ideal candidate will have good interpersonal and communication skills, leadership qualities, and be a team player.
