Android Lead Developer

This is a senior-level Android engineer position that requires someone who thinks strategically and has experience building great user experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Owning major features and working closely with designers
  • Shaping the future of our Android team and contributing to product decisions
  • Maintaining and improving reliability metrics for key features
  • Participating in discussions across different teams - Product, Design, Engineering
  • Reviewing pull requests and supporting other teammates
  • Handling critical issues and coping with unexpected challenges
  • Taking ownership of feature releases and providing nightly builds for QA engineers
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience
  • Familiarity with Android components and expertise in Kotlin
  • Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app with a focus on user interface and user experience
  • Product design intuition and empathy for users with disabilities
  • A drive to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX and improve the app and codebase
  • An understanding of the importance of tests and how to approach writing them
  • A self-motivated individual who can work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills and a user-oriented problem-solving approach
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools
