Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Senior Analytics Engineer to design, implement and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing data models across the Medallion Architecture layers to support analytics and reporting.

The ideal candidate will have strong SQL expertise with experience tuning queries and designing efficient schemas, hands-on experience with Airflow for workflow orchestration, and familiarity with AWS services, especially Athena, S3, and Glue. They will also have experience building analytics dashboards with Metabase or similar BI tools and a strong understanding of startup/product metrics and how to translate them into analytics workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Pipeline Engineering: Design, implement and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow.
  • Data Modeling: Develop data models across the Medallion Architecture layers to support analytics and reporting.
  • SQL Query Optimization: Optimize SQL queries for large datasets in AWS Athena and other relational systems.
  • Analytics Dashboard Development: Build and maintain dashboards and BI workflows using Metabase.
  • Metrics Definition: Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Analytics teams to define startup metrics and KPIs.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
  • Strong SQL expertise with experience tuning queries and designing efficient schemas.
  • Hands-on experience with Airflow for workflow orchestration.
  • Familiarity with AWS services, especially Athena, S3, and Glue.
