Role

Rystad Energy is seeking an ambitious and motivated candidate with a strong academic record, an analytical mindset, and excellent communication skills. Proficiency in Spanish is essential, as the role requires effective communication in this language. Additionally, the ideal candidate should have a keen interest in the upstream oil and gas market.

The Upstream Team is part of the analysis department in Rystad Energy and is responsible for maintaining and developing our database and products within the sector. The work done by the Upstream Team is key for our company's ambition to become a reference in market advisory solutions for oil & gas and energy transition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research the major upstream markets across Latin America with a focus on Argentina and Brazil to support the development of our regional products.
  • Support the update and quality control assessment of regional upstream databases.
  • Support the development and management of dashboards in Power BI.
  • Support the development of customized analysis, market reports, and country reports.
  • Support the development and coverage of new companies within existing upstream databases.
  • Support the development of presentations for client meetings and webinars.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate in a quantitative discipline (mathematics, economics, physics, etc.), engineering, geology, or geophysics.
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and written in English and Spanish.
  • Proficient in Excel (basic formulas, pivot tables, ability to structure large spreadsheets efficiently) and PowerPoint, with knowledge of Python and SQL being a plus to support data analysis and automation tasks.
  • Data driven, solid analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player, fast learner, and interested in energy-related topics particularly as they pertain to Argentina and Brazil.
  • Eager to be part of an international company and have exposure to people from different countries daily.
