We are seeking a skilled Product Manager to lead our software development process and collaborate with the engineering and design teams for Pet Loyalty's animal shelter software product, ShelterBuddy.
Main Responsibilities:- Facilitate Project Planning, Review, and Retrospective Meetings: Coordinate sprint planning, review, and retrospective meetings to ensure alignment and continuous improvement.
- Customer Requirements Analysis and Translation: Gather and analyze customer requirements, translating them into actionable engineering tasks.
- Collaboration with UX Team: Work closely with the UX team on new feature designs, ensuring a seamless user experience.
- Estimating Practices and Facilitation: Guide the team in estimating practices and facilitate software project estimates to ensure accurate forecasting.
- Project Execution and Stakeholder Management: Drive team iteration execution, communicate with management and stakeholders, and protect the team from uncontrolled work injection (changes are evaluated and intentional).
- Conflict Management and Business Requirement Adaptation: Manage project conflicts, challenges, and dynamic business requirements to maintain high-performance operations.
- Post-Mortem Analysis and Root Cause Investigation: Conduct thorough post-mortem analyses and root cause investigations to help teams improve their practices, ensuring maximum productivity.
- Improvement Stories and Engineering Tasks: Define and implement improvement stories and engineering tasks to enhance velocity and quality.
- Elimination of Impediments and Facilitation of Flow: Proactively identify and eliminate impediments, facilitating flow and supporting team success.
- Data Maintenance in Project Management Tools: Create and maintain team data in project management software (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) to support estimates and execution.
- Leadership Presentations: Present high-level project readouts to leadership, effectively communicating progress and achievements.
- Intra-Team Dynamics and Priority Management: Support the head of product with intra-team dynamics concerning priorities and scope.
- Customer Success Collaboration and Feedback: Collaborate with the Customer Success team, providing feedback on customer enhancement requests.
- Customer Feedback Sessions and Software Insights: Facilitate customer feedback sessions to gather and summarize feedback on software mockups and new product features, utilizing various tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Slack, Hubspot, Loom, Hotjar).
- Previous Experience in Product or Project Management Roles: Requires previous experience in product or project management roles.
- Familiarity with Collaboration Tools: Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, Slack, Whimsical, Loom, and Hotjar.
- Effective Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to convey technical information in an accessible manner.
- Empathy and Customer Focus: Empathetic and customer-focused attitude with a commitment to improving customer satisfaction of all Pet Loyalty software products.
- Bonus: Animal Welfare Experience: Bonus points for experience working in an animal shelter or within the field of animal welfare.
