Job DescriptionWe are seeking a qualified Portuguese Language and Culture Specialist Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Teaching classes and guiding student learning, promoting teaching and learning experiences based on our pedagogical plan and the special needs of each student;
- Developing and implementing strategies to improve student engagement and performance;
- Preparing adaptations and accommodations for students with special educational needs;
- Ensuring student safety and well-being during activities and classes;
- Reporting to the coordinator on student behavior and performance;
- Following our guidelines and policies, including the Language Policy, Teachers' Handbook, and Assessment Policy;
- Preparing weekly plans and displaying them in a visible place in the classroom;
- Maintaining accurate and complete student records;
- Guiding the Teaching Assistant and communicating with parents/guardians as needed;
- Attending academic meetings and professional development workshops to maintain and improve professional competence;
- Performing other tasks related to classroom management and student support.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Portuguese Language and Teaching;
- At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in middle years;
- Intermediate English language proficiency;
- Bilingualism and proficiency in Microsoft Office;
- Desirable knowledge of IB Methodology and digital thinking skills.
