About the Role:

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual who will oversee the company's financial records and manage personnel. You will be responsible for managing critical financial and human resource functions to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial and HR reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall financial accounting and cost accounting functions.
  • Oversee cash management and treasury functions, including the management of foreign currency exposure.
  • Prepare month end and annual accounting close, including various management reports distributed to Corporate Headquarters.
  • Manage the preparation of audit work papers for the external audit.
  • Post general journal entries and maintain related printed document support as required.
  • Manage and maintain strong internal financial controls.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings (property, payroll, VAT, corporate, etc.).
  • Prepare and manage the financial budgeting process.
  • Manage capital asset budgeting and tracking.
  • Manage the Human Resources function, including recruitment, training and development, compensation, performance management, as well as employee health and welfare plans.
  • Act as company representative for all union-related activity.
  • Interact and negotiate with union representatives for annual wage adjustments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or related field.
  • Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (chartered accountant).
  • Minimum of 10 years' progressive experience in financial management.
  • Previous manufacturing experience strongly desired.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (including, Excel, Word and Power Point) required.
  • Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of national and international tax regulations and compliance reporting.
  • Experience in managing payroll, with focus on streamlining accounting processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be fluent in Portuguese and English languages.
  • Understanding of financial and accounting standards and regulations.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Possess a sense of urgency and the ability to manage various demands.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
