The Professional Veterinary Consultant (PCV) Role

The PCV is a key member of the Veterinary Affairs Team, responsible for executing an integrated program to strengthen engagement with the veterinary community, driving vet recommendations, and converting them into sales. This role involves identifying, engaging, and building relationships with veterinary doctors, animal scientists, and veterinary/animal science schools, educating and influencing professors, residents, and students.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute visit schedules for veterinarian clinics and hospitals, ensuring optimal coverage and frequency.
  • Identify and engage relevant clients, providing nutritional education and building strong relationships.
  • Create and implement strategic initiatives to maximize reach and effectiveness of Hill's products.
  • Build relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to strengthen the brand's presence on the ground.
  • Visit strategic pet stores connected to veterinarian clinics to ensure product availability and promote Hill's products.
  • Participate in Hill's external events at national, regional, and specialized conferences, building relationships, providing insights, and influencing conference attendees.
  • Support sales through continuous training of the field team and act as a technical liaison.
  • Work closely with the sales team to develop plans to address regional opportunities and leverage Hill's presence and sellout.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on visits, training sessions, and events, highlighting the quantity and quality of actions taken.
  • Implement a holistic veterinary student strategy, considering different profiles and appropriate tools.
  • Build annual plans with relevant universities, engaging and providing technical materials and professional support.
  • Develop and provide continued education for veterinary students, fostering an interest in clinical nutrition.
  • Deliver lectures during academic weeks, discussing themes or cases, and conduct group studies or classes for students, residents, or graduate students.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine.
  • Experience in the pet market.
  • Master's degree, residency, or postgraduate studies within veterinary area.
  • English skills (intermediate).
  • Driver's license B.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
