About Us:

We are a logistics company seeking a professional to fill the role of Freight Capacity Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in freight capacity management to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with carriers, sourcing and securing truckload capacity, and handling digital bookings and negotiations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with carrier partners.
  • Source and secure truckload capacity based on customer needs.
  • Handle digital bookings and negotiations with unassigned carriers.
  • Match available capacity to open loads and assign the most suitable carrier.
  • Clearly communicate load details and pickup instructions to drivers.
  • Track and trace shipments already bid on and won to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Monitor driver status and electronically connect drivers to tracking apps.
  • Issue payment documents for lumpers as required.
  • Coordinate lumper payments during peak hours.
  • Gather proof of delivery and accessorial paperwork from carriers.
  • Identify and resolve shipment-level issues in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Provide pickup documentation and ensure timely load execution.
  • Negotiate pricing with carriers based on market conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records of carrier communication and load details.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in freight capacity management or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of logistics processes and transportation regulations.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics platforms.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
