Data Center Operations Engineer Job

We are seeking a skilled Data Center Operations Engineer to oversee the maintenance and operation of critical infrastructure systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal operational efficiency, reducing high-impact incidents, and delivering cost/energy efficiency initiatives.

  • Manage day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in leased data centers.
  • Maximize Critical Environment (CE) availability and ensure optimal operational efficiency.
  • Reduce high-impact CE incidents year over year.
  • Deliver on cost/energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Support delivery of emergency preparedness and response plans and act as an escalation point for facilities-related issues.
  • Coordinate and plan CE audits and compliance verification as needed.
  • Ensure routine reporting to effectively manage and analyze power, temperature, relative humidity, and SLA monitoring.
  • Establish strong working relationships with engineering groups and landlord partners.
  • Work with regional and global peers to share best practices across the datacenter portfolio.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in data center or critical environment facility operation.
  • Technical college degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Portuguese.
  • Able to work 100% onsite in Rio de Janeiro.
