Role Overview: AML & Screening Investigations Team Lead
In this pivotal role, you will oversee a team responsible for conducting comprehensive analyses of our global customer base, ensuring adherence to ethical and sustainable business practices. Your leadership will guide the team in navigating compliance with applicable regulations and our internal risk framework. Collaboration with Compliance, Product, and Commercial teams will be essential as you identify emerging risks and develop creative solutions that align with our commercial objectives. You will be part of a diverse international team based in various locations, contributing significantly to our growth and operational scalability.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of specialists conducting thorough investigations, analyzing transaction details, customer information, and performing extensive media checks to advise on Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across Compliance, Product, and Operations to develop and implement innovative solutions and recommendations, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Stay informed on regulatory developments and internal policy changes, identifying new risk areas and establishing robust controls to maintain compliance.
- Drive team performance by monitoring progress, delivering impactful presentations to senior leadership, and showcasing achievements and strategies.
- Recruit and onboard top-tier AML & Screening Investigators who align with our vision and contribute to our ambitious growth plans.
- Work closely with the AML/Screening Leadership team to define and execute the strategic goals and outcomes essential for the success of the department.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to identify trends, training needs, and provide constructive feedback aimed at fostering a culture of excellence.
- Partner with AML/Screening Insights to anticipate shifts in risk management strategies, ensuring operational readiness for new product launches.
- Cultivate effective communication within the team, mentoring and coaching team members to support their professional development.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in a leadership role within KYC/CDD/AML.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Innovative mindset with the capability to design scalable processes and procedures.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on efficient process management.
- Excellent decision-making skills and a solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to thrive in a KPI-driven environment and set operational targets.
- Adaptable to changing circumstances and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Passionate about building a high-performing team and fostering continuous development among team members.
- Experience in payments or FinTech is advantageous; enthusiasm is essential.
- Proficient in English and Portuguese, with strong communication skills.
- Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
