Job Overview

We're seeking a skilled expert to create configurations in our client's proprietary statement processing tool. This involves utilizing multiple sequential queries to ingest, validate, and process sales data from partners.

The primary focus of this role is on creating and maintaining configurations for one of our business lines, requiring collaboration with teams in London and internal teams based in New York and Los Angeles.

This person will be responsible for figuring out how to transform data from various formats (text, xlsx, pdf) into a usable csv that can be imported into the statement database. They will also write documentation for replicating these steps and develop queries to load, validate, and normalize the data.

From there, standardized code handles the rest of the work, including foreign exchange conversion, matching reported data, and showing processors any unmatched rejects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create new configurations for partners with whom we have deals.
  • Write detailed documentation for all prep workflows for each new configuration, enabling the statement processing team to easily replicate the required steps.
  • Maintain and update existing configurations when partners make changes to report formats or request in-house fixes and improvements.
  • Communicate daily with teams in London and LA to ensure configurations are programmed correctly, taking into account specific rules governing revenue reporting and allocation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Creative thinking, logical problem-solving, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Extensive experience writing complex SQL queries.
  • Experience working with very large data sets.
  • High proficiency with Excel.
  • Good knowledge of basic accounting principles, including VAT, WHT, and foreign currency exchange rates.
  • Excellent communication skills across multiple teams in multiple time zones.
  • ETL proficiency (familiarity with various file encodings and line endings).
  • Familiarity with data web apps like Looker and Snowflake is desirable.
