Job Summary
The Adilstone Group is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the coordination of various department operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the consistent production of high-quality products and services that meet or exceed customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with department coordinators to ensure efficient operations and adequate personnel and equipment to meet deadlines.
- Monitor the work of all manufacturing departments, collaborating with department coordinators and service representatives to determine job priorities and adjust schedules as needed.
- Review customer invoices for accuracy and ensure charges are correct before sending them to the Director of Manufacturing for final approval.
- Collaborate with department coordinators to ensure smooth workflow and meet job deadlines, adjusting departments' work as necessary to meet customer needs.
- Ensure department coordinators are current on inventory counts to maintain a smooth workflow.
- Participate in and ensure department coordinators conduct weekly safety meetings with their areas.
- Review job logs to ensure completed jobs are closed out and active jobs are tracked, determining how to address backlogged work.
- Work with department coordinators to ensure quality standards are met in the shop, identifying issues and collaborating with the Quality Department to resolve quality measures below standards.
- Fulfill the Director of Manufacturing's responsibilities in their absence.
- Partner with other managers, supervisors, foremen, employees, and office personnel to coordinate a smooth workflow.
- Coordinate the purchase of tools, materials, and equipment within departmental budgets to ensure efficient and effective departments.
- Work with department coordinators to ensure tools and equipment are available and in good working condition, coordinating repairs with maintenance or vendors as needed.
- Complete and deliver employee performance reviews for direct reports.
- Conduct performance corrective counseling in consultation with the Manager and/or Human Resources as needed.
- Communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately to employees, customers, and vendors.
Desired Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree in a mechanical and/or electrical discipline is a plus.
Experience
- Seven years of general shop experience.
- Four years in a supervision and/or leadership position in a machine shop or similar environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask while coordinating multiple high-level priorities.
- Strong knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to foster good employee/management relations and build a strong team effort to fulfill customers' expectations.
- Ability to promote teamwork and direct work of employees.
- Ability to train and mentor employees.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend complex written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to understand, perform, and retain various job-related training, operational, and safety procedures.
- Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision-making related to non-routine duties.
- Overnight travel may be required.
Compensation Information
- $35,000 BRL per month.
