Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to maintain and repair our MALDI Biotyper instruments.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance on MALDI Biotyper Systems, ensuring optimal performance and adhering to manufacturer specifications.
  • Conduct on-site troubleshooting using diagnostic software to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
  • Re-qualify the instrument after service by executing operational protocols and verifying system functionality.
  • Arrange travel and generate expense reports as needed.
  • Schedule customer acceptance of maintenance or repair services.
  • Coordinate customer support sessions and lab facility inspections.
  • Prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics, biotechnology, or chemistry related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and basic network interfacing skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel internationally.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with analog electronics, high voltage circuitry, laser technology, and high vacuum systems.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
