Journeyman Electrician Job Summary

As a Journeyman Electrician, you will play a vital role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. You will work on various projects, including the installation of generators, transformers, switchboards, and other transmission equipment.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Install or repair electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.
  • Locate and diagnose trouble in electrical systems or equipment by working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
  • Perform standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
Requirements:
  • Licensed as a Journeyman Electrician with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards, trained and certified per NAVFAC MO-200.
  • Driver's license with at least 6 months of remaining validity and ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle.
  • Able to lift 50lbs.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • General knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the electrical trade.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral.
  • Able to read and interpret Work Orders, parts requests, drawings/schematics/blueprints, and manuals.
