Product Development Lead

The Product Development Lead is responsible for the development of customer products from concept to mass production. The ideal candidate will ensure timely and cost-effective delivery while meeting quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop customer products through quote, prototyping, validation, and release in mass production
  • Manage technical requirements and risk proactively for all aspects
  • Ensure customer specifications, cost targets, design-to-manufacture, and timing goals are met
  • Collaborate with product development teams, customers, and internal functions like design, manufacturing, and industrialization to achieve common goals
  • Supervise product testing, including handling hazardous substances, interpreting test results, and introducing necessary actions or modifications to ensure all requirements are met
  • Support flawless launches by planning and controlling technical issues related to assigned projects and collaborating with the Program Manager to deliver high-quality solutions to customers
  • Provide product engineering expertise during customer visits, audits, and collaborations with other departments
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a comparable field
  • Strong experience in the automotive industry (preferably blow molding product design knowledge, welding, and assembly) is a plus
  • Demonstrate solid knowledge in Product Design, Engineering Systems, DFMEA, CAD/CAE & Simulation, Materials & Components, GD&T, D/FMA, Quality & Process tools, Problem Solving skills, and Product Testing knowledge
  • Able to support digitalization initiatives and execute sustainable business models
  • Team building skills with ability to lead local and global teams, including internal teams, customer teams, and supplier teams
  • Conflict management, action-oriented, priority setting, courage, and resilience are required skills
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English is essential
