Backend Engineering Excellence Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer with a strong background in NestJS, API architecture, and multi-tenant systems to excel in our engineering team.

This is a hands-on leadership role for an engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments, challenges assumptions, and mentors junior engineers while driving backend excellence.

Main Responsibilities:
  • API Development & Architecture: Design, build, and optimize scalable APIs for digital banking systems. Implement secure account creation, transfers, and real-time banking dashboards. Lead API discussions, testing (unit, integration, e2e), and deployments.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Mentor and coach junior engineers, instilling best practices in backend systems. Facilitate code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions. Challenge existing approaches and propose better architectural solutions.
  • Event Streaming & Observability: Drive the adoption of event streaming for real-time transaction processing. Implement strong monitoring, logging, and observability with tools like Datadog or Grafana.
  • Collaboration & Delivery: Work closely with frontend engineers to deliver seamless banking experiences. Contribute to onboarding processes by setting up tools and frameworks. Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to ensure reliable delivery.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in backend development.
  • Deep expertise with NestJS.
  • Strong background in multi-tenant API systems and scalable architectures.
  • Experience in financial services or digital banking is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of observability tools.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English.
