Job Summary
The HSES Safety Engineer II - Compliance Specialist will support the HSES Manager in managing and developing systems to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, certifications, and organizational HSES standards. This role will be responsible for assisting with HSE incident investigations and reports, conducting and leading HSE audits and inspections, coaching on HSE subjects and risk management tools, and preparing, auditing, and maintaining eJSA and eHRA documents.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with HSE incident investigations and reports
- Conduct and lead HSE audits and inspections
- Coach on HSE subjects and risk management tools
- Prepare, audit, and maintain eJSA and eHRA documents
- Support the HSES Manager in managing and developing systems to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, certifications, and organizational HSES standards
Requirements
- Typically at least five years of HSE or related experience in a manufacturing, oilfield, or similar environment
- NEBOSH Diploma or BS degree in Occupational Health and Safety
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
- Maintaining HSE management systems
- Leading HSE management system audits
- Basic knowledge of local HSE regulations
- Experience of implementing key HSE processes resulting in positive cultural change
- Experience of leading/facilitating/mentoring projects/meetings/HSE teams
- Experience of working within a global network
- Ability to identify deviations from standards
- Basic knowledge of functional HSE programs preferred
Working Environment
- Works in office environment approximately 30% of the time using standard office equipment
- Works in shop manufacturing and service facility environments 60% of the time, which involves moderate exposure to hazardous and non-hazardous wastes, noise levels, inclement weather, and shop machinery
- Conducts field visits to operational sites, including remote areas and offshore rigs
Physical Demands
- Potential for extended walking, bending, climbing, stooping, and moderate lifting daily
- Periodic assistance handling containerized chemicals and wastes by hand or mechanical means
