Company Overview:
Situated in a prime location, the renowned Fairmont Chateau Laurier hotel is seeking to hire two Overnight Maintenance Engineers to cover a total of 84 hours on a bi-weekly basis.
Work Schedule:
The shifts commence at 8 PM and conclude at 8 AM the following morning, with the following working days:
- Week 1: Monday to Thursday (or Thursday to Sunday)
- Week 2: Monday to Wednesday (or Friday to Sunday)

Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, your main duties will include but are not limited to:
- Delivering consistently professional, friendly, and engaging service
- Conducting rounds in designated areas, including lighting checks
- Responding to all calls and executing repairs throughout the hotel
- Performing chemical testing for boilers, chillers, swimming pools, etc.
- Participating in the fire response team and being available for emergencies
- Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance as directed by the Engineering Department
- Demonstrating experience with chillers, boilers, and refrigeration systems
- Handling HVAC systems and associated preventative maintenance tasks
- Executing minor plumbing, mechanical, and electrical repairs
- Completing other assigned duties as required
Qualifications Required:
- Previous experience in a hotel environment is advantageous
- Graduation from a technical school
- Building Operator Certificate or Maintenance Technician certification is a plus
- Proficient in computer use, including knowledge of BAS systems, Microsoft Word, and Outlook
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in maintenance and repair work
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting
- Occasional climbing of ladders, stairs, and ramps
