Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Major Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner (Nurse)(ODP) to join our team at Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital. As a key member of our perioperative department, you will be responsible for delivering safe and high-quality care to patients during their surgical journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe and effective care to patients during the perioperative phase, ensuring their needs are met and their safety is prioritized.
- Support and assist in the management and organization of care provision within the Operating Department, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Lead and manage a team of healthcare professionals, coordinating staff training needs and resource requirements to ensure optimal performance.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others, promoting best evidence-based practice and continuous learning.
- Apply and promote best evidence-based practice within own scope of practice, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act, ensuring appropriate measures are taken to ensure patient, staff, and visitor safety.
- Assemble, check, and prepare surgical equipment, instruments, and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- HCPC registration as a Nurse or ODP
- Experience working in a perioperative environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care
