System Engineering Manager Position Overview

The role involves leading engineering teams to enable and optimize systems for diverse hardware platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of engineers, ranging from junior to senior levels.
  • Oversee commercial engagements and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Participate as technical lead in complex customer projects involving system architectures.
  • Implement disciplined engineering processes and standards.
  • Integrate and maintain software stacks for various platforms.
  • Optimize systems for latest hardware platforms.
  • Display technical leadership within the organization and external communities.
  • Contribute to code reviews and technical documentation.
Requirements:
  • Exceptional academic background with undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Fluency in C, C++, and Python programming languages.
  • Experience with Linux and operating system software.
  • Understanding of Debian/Ubuntu packaging and distro management.
  • Leadership experience in software engineering teams.
  • Professional written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Confidence in sharing ideas, feedback, and opinions.
  • Self-motivation and result-oriented approach.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Experience working with open source communities and licenses.
  • Knowledge of computer architecture for x86, ARM, RISC-V, or s390x platforms.
  • Understanding of build systems and toolchains for cross-compilation.
  • Customer-facing experience and skills.
  • Board bring-up and validation expertise.
  • Linux virtualization, networking, or graphics stack knowledge.
  • Experience with confidential computing, RDMA, Infiniband, and high-performance computing technologies.
  • Performance engineering, benchmarking, and profiling skills.
