About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Engineer to join our team at SumUp Inc. in São Paulo, Brazil. As a key member of our Android squad, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our mobile app, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality, security, and user experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-quality Android features, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Work closely with designers and product owners to ensure features are maintainable, usable, and beautiful.
  • Participate in architectural discussions, propose solutions, and contribute to the technical roadmap of our Android application.
  • Develop a wealth of knowledge about our complex problem domain and its implications in the interface and backend.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and prioritize technical debt, ensuring our codebase remains clean and maintainable.
Requirements
  • Hands-on experience building mobile applications using Kotlin, with a solid understanding of Android app design principles, patterns, and best practices.
  • Good knowledge of architectural design patterns such as MVVM and MVP, with proven experience ensuring modularized and scalable app architecture.
  • A genuine passion for writing well-structured, readable, and maintainable code.
  • Ability to take ownership and drive the development of exciting and impactful new features and products.
  • Experience with Agile practices, including Pairing and TDD.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
