Tax Specialist


Job Description:

The Tax Specialist will report to and assist with the organization's senior tax professional on day-to-day direct tax responsibilities. This would include direct taxes / tax accounting, Sales & Use Tax, Property tax, tax compliance, appeals, preparing Federal Income returns, provisions, as well as assisting other departments on special projects including general accounting, consolidations, FP&A, etc.


Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the annual and monthly tax returns for sales, use, as well as property taxes.
  • Assist with preparation of annual Federal and State tax provision workpapers.
  • Prepare state apportionment, allocation and overpayment workpapers.
  • Assist the audit department in regards to gathering information for sales, use as well as property tax audits.
  • Prepare filing of quarterly and annual estimated payments, & extensions.
  • Prepare gross receipts, sales tax, a property tax returns and processing.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree. Master's in Tax or MBA is a plus.
  • CPA or EA is preferred but not required.
  • 2+ years of relevant tax accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of income tax, sales and use tax, etc.
