Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Translator to join our team at Spot Pessoas E Resultados. As a key member of our Embassy team, you will be responsible for translating official correspondence and documents to and from host government ministries, agencies, and diplomatic missions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Translate official correspondence and documents to and from host government ministries, agencies, and diplomatic missions.
  2. Monitor political, economic, and social developments of Brazil and its relations with major partner countries.
  3. Alert the Embassy staff of relevant and important information from articles in newspapers, local publications, and internet sources.
  4. Coordinate and conduct research activities on topics as directed by the Embassy staff.
  5. Translate and prepare official correspondence and notifications to and from Brazilian authorities, agencies, or any other entities.
  6. Act as interpreter for official meetings, at the request of the Embassy staff.
  7. Coordinate and conduct research on information on topics through the use of the Internet or other official sources as and when directed by Embassy staff.
  8. Monitor and review the day's media reports and prepare a brief summary of important headlines to alert the Embassy staff.
  9. Set up appointments with key politicians and government officials as directed for the Embassy staff.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in research and translation.
  2. Fluency in at least two languages, including English.
  3. Ability to work with deadlines and as part of a team.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in translating technical and scientific documents.
  2. Knowledge of text editing and diagramming tools.
