As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient management and execution of subsea operations. This role requires a strong understanding of hydraulic, electric IT components, and configurations for subsea BOP equipment.

Job Description

Our ideal candidate will have a solid background in engineering and industry standards, as well as experience with subsea equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proficient technical knowledge and skills in areas such as:

  • Subsea equipment operation and maintenance
  • BOP deployment, pressure testing, and maintenance
  • Riser and tensioning system operation and recovery
  • Wellhead, casing hangers, and seal assemblies operation and testing

You will work closely with the drilling department to ensure accurate well-specific space out measurements are taken, verified, and submitted to the Sub Sea Supervisor. In addition, you will assist in the development and compilation of comprehensive subsea procedures and checklists.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Conducting daily control of all well control equipment and systems
  • Conducting daily control of all subsea support systems
  • Maintaining and recording subsea equipment maintenance
  • Managing equipment preparation for future drilling operations

You will also be responsible for communicating equipment problems or breakdowns to the Sub Sea Supervisor and other department heads onboard. Additionally, you will participate in joint reviews of pre-deployment BOP checklists and maintain up-to-date documentation packages and drawings of subsea equipment onboard.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or Equivalent, Bachelor's degree in engineering or educational equivalent from an accredited technical school or comparable military experience
  • Five years in a Sub Sea role with three years MUX (electro hydraulic subsea systems) experience and formal assessment of competency
  • Valid Well Control Certification (IWCF Level 2 - Introductory)
  • Working knowledge of technical calculations required for subsea operations
  • Ability to read and decipher drawings, electro hydraulic circuit diagrams for competent evaluations of troubleshooting techniques

Other Responsibilities

In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, you will also be expected to:

  • Effectively use all safety and environmental tools employed by Seadrill (4-point check, OBS cards, PTW etc.)
  • Assist in running and testing the wellhead, casing hangers, and seal assemblies
  • Demonstrate cost control awareness of subsea equipment and inventory
  • Participate in the management of change process together with the shore-based office
