About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Surveyor to join our team at DNV. As a Senior Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting surveys and audits on vessels at various ports in Brazil, ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with the organization's quality requirements and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct surveys and audits on vessels at Brazilian ports, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  2. Work on-site surveys during dry-docking and in-service, providing technical support and guidance as needed.
  3. Support major vessel conversions, alterations, and technical matters involving various types of vessels.
  4. Collaborate with other class activities as necessary, maintaining confidentiality of client information at all times.
  5. Supervise the work of others, ensuring efficient and economical execution of tasks.
  6. Communicate important information to line management promptly, promoting a customer-oriented focus and technical support for clients.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Mechanical Engineering, with previous experience in Maritime Engineering or Master Mariner.
  2. At least 5 years of experience in the Marine sector, preferably at a Classification Society.
  3. ISM/ISPS/MLC auditor formal qualification is an advantage.
  4. Understanding of class and statutory survey work and responsibilities is an advantage.
  5. Registration at the Brazilian Engineering Council (CREA) is mandatory.
  6. Portuguese and English speaking/writing proficiency is mandatory.
  7. Strong customer service orientation and understanding of client needs.
  8. Physical abilities necessary to perform regular functions of the job, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
  9. Hold a valid driver's license.
  10. Availability to work outside normal working hours, if required.
  11. Be open to internal transfers (national and international).
