As a simulation specialist, you will be responsible for assisting faculty in the design, implementation, and execution of simulation-based courses. This includes pre-briefing, creating props, moulage, debriefing, programming manikins, and operating simulation and A/V equipment.
You will work with the entire team to ensure the simulation scenarios and environment are realistic and adhere to education pedagogy and simulation standards of best practice.
Responsibilities also include identifying, implementing, and managing hardware, software, and multimedia resources to support the simulation center. Additionally, you will assist the IT manager in maintaining equipment and systems, including troubleshooting equipment, updating operating systems, and resolving system problems with the manufacturer.
Other duties include setting up, transitioning, and breaking down sessions daily, supporting role-playing applications and props placement to create a virtual healthcare setting, and providing laboratory orientation to learners and faculty.
Minimum requirements include an associate's degree in a related field, 5 years of professional experience in an academic, clinical, or simulation learning environment, working knowledge and proficiency in computers and application software, and experience with simulation equipment from companies such as Laerdal, METI, Gaumard, Harvey, and etc.
This position requires certification and/or experience in Laboratory Science and the ability to work nights and weekends as needed. The expected pay range is $57,979 - $63,777.60.
