RN Certified School Nurse position with a focus on student health and wellbeing.
About the RoleThe RN Certified School Nurse is responsible for identifying and treating health conditions among students in the school setting, providing instruction for general wellbeing and disease prevention. The nurse must assess students' physical condition and refer them to appropriate resources as needed.
Responsibilities- Assess and treat health conditions among students
- Provide instruction for students' general wellbeing and disease prevention
- Affirmatively assist students achieve success by referring them to necessary resources
- Current nursing license for the state in which the nurse practices
- Certification or Credential in school nursing, required
- One year prior school nursing experience required
- Pediatric experience, preferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
