Job Title: Travel Assistant

UNICEF is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Travel Assistant to join our team in Brasilia, Brazil. As a key member of our administrative team, you will be responsible for managing travel arrangements, verifying travel claims, and supervising the performance of travel agencies and transportation services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Timely and cost-effective application of the BCO travel work process to ensure travelers are at the right time at the required place.
  • Verifying travel claims for trips that did not take place as planned, checking supporting documents for completeness and accuracy in conformity with entitlements.
  • Effective supervision of the Travel Agency and Transportation Services, verifying if services provided are satisfactory and in accordance with the contract.
  • Providing guidance to the UNICEF Brasilia Driver and implementing effective staff learning and development programme activities for capacity building for staff under supervision.
  • Acting as focal point for the transportation services for the Brazil Country Office, supporting management of the online contract portal, monitoring flows and APP mobile system, training and guiding UNICEF staff to use the service/app.
Requirements:
  • Completion of secondary education is required, preferably supplemented by technical training.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience is required, with experience in the travel industry and an international organization.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese is required.
