Job Title: Data Science Specialist

Job Summary:

3M is seeking a Data Science Specialist to join the Corporate Services & Operational Excellence (CSOE) Data Analytics team within Integrated Business Operations (IBO). The successful candidate will work with large sets of relevant and high-quality data to apply machine learning algorithms and gain predictive insights for sales estimation, AR overdue forecast, order fulfillment predicting, targeting/customer clustering, text analysis, anomaly detection, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work with large datasets to identify opportunities for automation, prediction, and personalization.
  2. Apply machine learning algorithms to make predictions and gain insights for business growth, operational excellence, and effective risk control.
  3. Use optimization techniques to transform predictions into actionable prescriptions and ensure that actions taken and relevant metrics are stored to achieve business value.

Requirements:

  1. Possess a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  2. Minimum of one year of combined experience in predictive and prescriptive data analytics.
  3. Good skills in machine learning algorithms, Python, SQL, etc., with 2+ years of experience.
  4. Advanced English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  2. Strong technical expertise, including intermediate-level data processing, machine learning algorithms, programming language scripting, data visualization, basic ML Ops platform knowledge, and probability and statistics.
  3. Experience in customer-facing roles with good business understanding and knowledge.
  4. Experience working within a globally matrixed organization.

Travel:

May include up to 10% domestic/international travel.
