Risk Management Engineer

FM is a leading property insurer that provides engineering-based risk management and property insurance solutions to the world's largest businesses. As a Risk Management Engineer, you will play a critical role in helping clients maintain continuity in their business operations by identifying and mitigating risks.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate the integrity and reliability of equipment to deliver focused risk improvement solutions.
  2. Utilize operating standards, data sheets, and guides to provide risk guidance and implement best practices.
  3. Prepare engineering reports and loss expectancies to support risk improvement.
  4. Collaborate with Operations Engineering, Client Services, Account Management, and Underwriting on Boiler & Machinery recommendations.
  5. Work independently with minimal supervision, managing your time effectively to meet deadlines.
  6. Travel to large, complex industrial client sites to evaluate operations and systems, identifying risks and hazards.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a concentration in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering.
  2. Minimum of 5 years' work experience combined with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  3. Experience in a high-hazard industry, preferably in Mining or Molten Materials. Other desirable industries include power generation, chemical, nuclear, pulp and paper, manufacturing, or maritime.
  4. Demonstrated experience in understanding basic machinery and equipment, with hands-on exposure.
  5. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in MS Office products.
  6. Analytical, organized, and possess good problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  7. Results-driven with self-learning skills.
  8. Fluent in English (spoken and written); Spanish is also required.
