We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our team at OSF Digital, Inc. as a key contributor to the development of our satellite network management application.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement backend processes and the data repository layer for a satellite network management application.
- Collaborate with a team of experts to contribute to the development of a scalable and flexible communications platform.
- Own several components within the overall system architecture, ensuring their successful integration and functionality.
- Participate in code review sessions to maintain high-quality standards across the codebase.
- Ensure proper test coverage at the unit level and higher, contributing to the robustness of the application.
- Provide support for a live customer base by analyzing and resolving issues across the technology stack.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation for deployment processes and new features.
- Proficiency in C++ development within a Unix/Linux environment.
- Experience with Python 3.x programming.
- Familiarity with virtualization solutions and/or container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (K8S).
- Ability to analyze complex distributed software architectures.
- A strong desire to learn and a passion for software development.
- Excellent team player with the ability to work as part of an international team.
- Good communication skills, with proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Experience with development for RHEL systems or with Linux OS architecture.
- C++ unit testing experience, preferably with Google Test and Google Mock frameworks.
- Knowledge of SQL, with Postgresql experience being highly appreciated.
- Experience with Elasticsearch, Apache Kafka, and working with time-series databases such as TimescaleDB.
- Familiarity with CI/CD methodologies for streamlined software development and deployment.
