Job Overview

As an IT Infrastructure Program Manager, you will oversee the comprehensive lifecycle of IT infrastructure initiatives, collaborating with diverse global teams to guarantee effective project execution. This position demands a robust grasp of IT infrastructure, project management frameworks, and technical know-how, along with the capability to engage with stakeholders across various regions.

Your main emphasis will be on projects related to IT networking, cloud solutions, and security enhancements, as well as the deployment or refinement of technical infrastructure (including installations, management of obsolete systems, and infrastructure upgrades) to ensure smooth integration and peak performance, ultimately delivering significant value to the organization.

In your role at Imerys, you will operate within a global context as part of a dedicated team focused on value creation and ongoing enhancement. You will lead and contribute to high-stakes projects that support business objectives and foster the integration of innovative technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and engage in the complete lifecycle of IT infrastructure projects with a concentration on:
    • IT networking and telecommunications initiatives, including unified communications
    • Cloud migration projects, particularly with AWS, and virtualization efforts
    • Projects aimed at separating infrastructure networks and applications
    • Management of technical obsolescence and system consolidations
    • Conducting site evaluations and upgrades
  • Assist in defining project goals, scope, deliverables, and collaborate with stakeholders to establish requirements and success metrics aligned with business objectives
  • Lead project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
  • Prepare detailed scopes of work, assess infrastructure needs for business requests, and coordinate technical designs and specifications
  • Develop planning documents such as work breakdown structures, project timelines, resource allocations, and budgets
  • Continuously monitor and manage project progress, budget adherence, and team engagement to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery while maintaining quality standards
  • Handle change management, evaluate risks, and prepare mitigation strategies with impact assessments for informed decision-making
  • Manage project relationships with suppliers throughout the project lifecycle
  • Facilitate the transition of project outcomes to Operations teams and ensure successful release to end-users
  • Provide regular updates on project status and progress to stakeholders and senior management as needed
  • Act as the Infrastructure task leader in business-driven initiatives, managing the Infrastructure scope of work
  • Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies in IT infrastructure
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at continuous improvement within the project management discipline.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience as a Project Manager in IT Infrastructure, networking, and cloud domains, with a minimum of 3-5 years
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and meeting quality expectations
  • Extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure systems, security protocols, and cloud technologies, preferably AWS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
  • Project management certification is highly desirable, with PMP preferred
  • Familiarity with Waterfall, Agile, and/or hybrid project delivery methodologies
  • ITIL certification and knowledge of IT Service Management frameworks are advantageous
  • Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills
  • Proficiency in French is a plus
  • Able to manage and collaborate with global cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities
