Job Overview

The incumbent will be responsible for managing engineering activities within an assigned organizational element, program or project. The successful candidate will have experience in planning, conducting and supervising engineering design reviews and analysis assignments.

This is a senior-level position requiring the application of conventional knowledge in a specific engineering discipline to complex projects. The selected candidate will be expected to devise new approaches to problems encountered and recommend changes in methods or procedures where necessary.

Key responsibilities include day-to-day leadership of Engineering staff, assigning projects and monitoring progress. The role also involves ensuring high-quality service delivery and maintaining good customer relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to junior engineers.
  • Assign and monitor projects to ensure timely completion and quality standards are met.
  • Develop and implement new approaches to problem-solving.
  • Monitor and report on project progress and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with other engineering specialists internally and externally.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent in structural or civil engineering.
  • At least 8 years' experience in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Finite Element Analysis software packages (FEMAP/Nastran).
  • Structural analysis in offshore/marine industry.
  • Knowledge of applicable Rules and Regulations.
  • Human relations skills for positive client interactions.
Reporting Relationships

Reports to a Department Head or Manager.
