Key Business Insights Specialist

The Key Business Insights Specialist plays a crucial role in providing clean data sets and models to drive key business decisions.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with team members to collect business requirements, define successful analytics outcomes, and design data models considering performance, cost, and security constraints.
  • Model, design, develop, test, and implement backend and front-end structures to meet visualization and reporting needs.
  • Implement and refine dbt models that extract, transform, and load features for reporting and ML experiments, ensuring documentation and adherence to CI/CD practices in GitHub with automated tests and version control.
  • Curate structured datasets with regular refreshes, verify record completeness, update metadata, and track dataset health metrics escalating issues to senior engineers as needed.
  • Develop and integrate data-quality handling guidelines into pipelines and CI/CD workflows. Operate anomaly detection dashboards escalate issues and collaborate on remediation strategies.
  • Build train and evaluate proof-of-concept models using Python libraries (scikit-learn TensorFlow). Perform feature selection hyperparameter tuning and metric analysis under mentorship collaborating on prototype refinement.
  • Coordinate with data engineers analysts and governance teams to align with change management ensuring optimal performance processes and access for global reporting.
  • Comply with all privacy and data security policies including those related to data confidentiality and integrity.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data infrastructure tooling and experience working with large-scale datasets. A background in computer science or a related field is highly desirable along with proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL.

Requirements:
  • Experience with data engineering and analytics tools such as dbt bigquery Google Cloud Platform and data warehousing solutions.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling data transformation and data quality concepts.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Python and other programming languages.
  • Experience with cloud-based services and platforms.
