AI Engineering Role Overview

We are seeking a part-time Lead AI Engineer to join our team. This seasoned professional will be responsible for developing cutting-edge AI-powered solutions, building scalable data pipelines and platforms, and collaborating with teams to turn ambitious ideas into reality.

The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in data engineering and 1+ year in AI. They should possess expertise in designing and delivering AI systems, particularly RAG and memory-focused architectures.

In addition to their technical skills, the successful candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of data architecture patterns, incremental ingestion, and data quality assurance. They will also possess an ownership-driven mindset, eagerness to learn, adapt, and ship results quickly in a fast-paced environment.

This is a unique opportunity to work on exciting projects while maintaining a healthy work-life balance due to the part-time probation (20 hours/week) arrangement.

Requirements
  • 5-10 years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in data engineering and 1+ year in AI;
  • Expertise building scalable data pipelines and platforms (Spark, S3, Databricks, Snowflake);
  • Proven experience designing and delivering AI systems, particularly RAG and memory-focused architectures;
  • Familiarity with modern AI tools and techniques — foundation models, vector databases, prompt engineering, system evaluation;
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture patterns (medallion, STAR), incremental ingestion, and data quality assurance;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects end-to-end and work independently;
  • Ownership-driven mindset, eagerness to learn, adapt, and ship results quickly in a fast-paced environment.
