Music Teacher

Description:
  • Teach music classes and guide student learning, promoting educational experiences based on the Red House pedagogical plan and individual student needs.
  • Familiarize yourself with the school's Pedagogical Proposal, adopted approach, and specific grade learning expectations.
  • Analyze students' progress in the learning process, collect evidence, and address individual needs to improve performance.
  • Collaborate with coordination to develop strategies that promote student improvement and engagement, based on observation and evidence collection.
  • Offer special music classes and adapt activities for students with learning difficulties.
  • Prepare accommodations for students with special educational needs.
  • Ensure student safety by staying with them during activities, observing, guiding, and intervening as needed to prevent accidents.
  • Closely observe students' attitudes and behaviors to identify potential health issues, providing necessary actions.
  • Report observed behaviors and student performance to the coordinator to keep families informed.
  • Follow general Red House guidelines (Language Policy, Teachers' Handbook, Assessment Policy).
  • Create weekly lesson plans in collaboration with the coordinator and display them in a visible place in the classroom.
  • Regularly review lesson plans, considering proposed and achieved objectives, and re-plan when necessary.
  • Forward approved copies of activities, projects, and materials for classroom use, respecting deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
  • Advise students through evidence-based practices, handling conflict situations according to the school philosophy.
  • Collect evidence of student learning during lessons.
  • Evaluate students based on collected evidence, assign grades, and present them to the coordinator according to deadlines.
  • Guide Teaching Assistants with clear expectations, deadlines, and instructions, reporting identified development needs to the coordinator.
  • Inform parents/guardians about students' development upon request and under coordinator supervision.
  • Attend academic meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.
  • Be responsible for student materials and class management.
  • Communicate daily occurrences related to students to the coordinator (accidents, illnesses, absences, etc.).
  • Take care of class objects and equipment, keeping the space organized.
  • Prioritize regular feedback to help students improve and develop in class.
  • Share relevant information about students with other teachers in the class.
  • Meet deadlines set by Red House guidelines (report card, unit summary, unit planner, etc.).
Requirements:
  • Education: Music Education Degree; Pedagogy Degree (desirable).
  • Experience: 2 years of teaching experience in early years and/or elementary education (desirable).
  • Languages: Proficiency in English.
  • Specific Technical Knowledge: Bilingualism; Microsoft Office.
  • Desirable Knowledge: IB Methodology.
