About the Position
You'll join our Point of Care team, working closely with your peers, colleagues from other feature teams, and engineering managers to develop innovative solutions to technical challenges across our architecture.
In partnership with fellow staff developers, you'll contribute to setting our product-wide technical roadmap, aligning our aspirations with technical capabilities.
You'll leverage your expertise and perspective to build security and performance into all aspects of your work and drive our move towards continuous software delivery.
We have parallel career tracks for individual contributors and managers within AlayaCare Engineering.
Our technology stack includes Python, PHP on the back-end, Vue.js on the front-end, and AWS.

A Typical Day
As a Transformative Software Engineer, you'll share responsibility for maintaining our codebase from a platform perspective, ensuring feature developers can work efficiently within it.
You'll design, code, test, and debug complex software with high quality, as a full-time member of our platform services team.
You'll provide technical leadership for your team, assist in enhancing your colleagues' skills through mentoring, coaching, and knowledge-sharing.
You'll participate in code reviews to foster technical innovation in areas like component re-use, extensibility, maintainability, and scalability.
You'll monitor your code in production, proactively identifying and resolving issues encountered by clients.
You'll contribute to setting the product-wide technical roadmap, driving success of technical cross-team initiatives, and responsible adoption of new technologies and industry trends.
In the future, you'll participate in an on-call rotation (respecting your time) to support your team's software.

Your Qualifications
You must have 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
You should hold a degree or diploma in computer science or engineering, or demonstrate equivalent learning experience.
You should have hands-on experience with Python 3, Flask, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
You should have a background in creating horizontal services and components (authentication, authorization, notifications, background jobs, etc).
You should have knowledge about Design Patterns, micro-frontend concepts, and Docker.
You should have a track record of making difficult technical decisions in ambiguous situations.
You should possess strong written and spoken English communication skills, targeting both technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice to have skills: Experience with Celery, Redis, or Kubernetes.
