Job Title: Senior Supply Chain Manager, Emerging Countries Network Planning

The Emerging Country Network Planning team at Amazon is seeking a talented Senior Supply Chain Manager to create solutions that optimize multi-year network topology design and Supply Chain planning processes for new country expansion. Our scope includes emerging countries such as Mexico, Brazil, Australia, the Middle East, Singapore, and new countries.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead projects for cross-functional teams focused on delivering new features, services, products, or systems that meet cost optimization and delivery experience maximization goals.
  2. Contribute to mid to long-term network planning processes, tools, and features rollout and process standardization for new and emerging countries.
  3. Define the best topology for emerging countries by leveraging optimization tool sets to find answers for critical strategic questions such as how many facilities to build, what kinds they should be, where to put them, how to expect them to operate in terms of inbound/outbound, and how to connect them in our transportation system.
  4. Gather requirements from appropriate business owners, write clear and detailed business requirements, prioritize features, and drive technical scoping as needed.
  5. Partner with established markets teams to benchmark best practices and tools to drive implementation and adoption for new countries.
  6. Create scalable mechanisms and best practices, actively work to remove bottlenecks.
  7. Effectively influence stakeholders without having direct authority.
  8. Communicate and drive strategic initiatives.
  9. Proactively identify gaps/opportunities and decide when to make a case for single-threaded owners and other resourcing.
  10. Around 5% annual travel to respective countries to understand local transportation operations and processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Network planning, retail/e-commerce operations execution experience
  • 5+ years using MS Excel, SQL, or other related data analysis tools
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  • 3+ years in a production, fulfillment, or planning environment
  • 3+ years experience and success at leading cross-functional programs
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Experience with Six Sigma/Lean, network modeling, and Operational Excellence
  • Ability to write SQL queries
  • The ability to use both formal and informal influencing skills across Amazon's cross-matrix organization is critical to the success of this role
  • Knowledge of how a fulfillment center and transportation network is designed and operated
  • Ability to communicate effectively across a multitude of platforms with remote team members, as well as stakeholders at multiple levels within the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
  • Strong bias for action; ability to juggle multiple competing priorities and create a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
