Backend Software Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, efficient, and reliable backend services using Kotlin.

Our partner builds software that IT teams across the globe depend on every day. The focus is not on cranking out quick features but on crafting backend services in Kotlin that can scale, last, and support critical operations at serious volume. The team values ownership, clean code, and smart engineering practices.

Key responsibilities include building and maintaining backend services, designing APIs that are reliable, scalable, and easy to consume, writing clean, tested, and observable code, contributing to technical design and architecture decisions, refactoring and modernizing legacy logic when needed, ensuring smooth data flow across distributed systems, collaborating with product and design partners to refine features, reviewing peer code and promoting best practices, diagnosing and resolving production issues with root cause focus, staying current with emerging backend and cloud engineering trends, applying secure coding standards across the stack, improving performance and scalability through thoughtful design, supporting CI/CD pipelines and automation for faster delivery, and maintaining clear technical documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years in backend software development
  • Production-level Kotlin experience
  • SaaS application development with modern cloud services
  • API-driven systems background
  • Experience with relational databases at scale
  • Exposure to containerized, microservice-based systems
