Purchasing Analyst Job Description

Career Area: Procurement

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Purchasing Analyst to join our team at Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation. As a Purchasing Analyst, you will be responsible for processing requisitions, providing support for purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, cost, price analyses, and contract/purchase order generation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver Analysis and Maintenance: You will be responsible for delivering analysis and maintenance of purchasing and quality data, including purchase orders, quotations, invoices, source catalogues, material rejection disposal reports, tooling records, supplier data, and measurements.
  2. Work with Master Planners: You will work with master planners on outsourcing needs, establishing blanket purchase orders, and vendor-managed inventory (VMI).
  3. Support Customers and Proposal Efforts: You will support customers and customer proposal efforts with pricing information and supplier selection.
  4. Perform Analytical and Administrative Tasks: You will perform analytical and administrative tasks in support of purchasing strategic initiatives.

Requirements:

  1. Analytical Thinking: You will have knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis, ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems, and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  2. Project Management: You will have knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics, ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
  3. Effective Communications: You will have understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques, ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  4. Procurement: You will have knowledge of buying and procurement, ability to work with organizational strategies and practices, and use tools for buying goods, supplies, equipment, and services needed to conduct business.

What You Have - Basic Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree: You will have a Bachelor's degree.
  2. Pre-Advanced English: You will have pre-advanced English.
  3. Advanced Microsoft Office Applications: You will have advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office applications.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Data Analytics: You will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Data Analytics.
  2. Advanced English: You will have advanced English.
  3. Lean Manufacturing Knowledge: You will have Lean Manufacturing knowledge.
  4. Frequent Travel: The position may require frequent travel.
