Linux Kernel Architect

This role is focused on driving the architecture, implementation, and ongoing delivery of the Ubuntu Linux kernel.
- The ideal candidate will have a deep technical background in operating system kernels and distributions, as well as strong leadership skills to drive teams to completion.
The successful candidate will be a pioneer in global distributed collaboration, working with 1200+ colleagues in 75+ countries.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive collaborations with key Silicon and Cloud partners to deliver optimal solutions for their platforms
- Develop strategies to mitigate common vulnerabilities and exposures for Ubuntu Linux, and drive hardening efforts in the kernel
- Architect enhancements to performance and correctness to make Ubuntu Linux a leading Linux kernel
- Streamline the packaging and distribution of third-party components for an optimal user experience
- Develop innovative solutions to deliver Ubuntu Linux at scale, meeting high quality standards and delivery schedules
- Technical expertise in operating system kernels and distributions
- Leadership skills and ability to drive ideas and delivery teams to completion
- Able to lead engineers within the team and coordinate adoption and delivery with external teams
