Senior Software Engineer Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned software engineer to join our team in developing and maintaining high-quality decision platforms and machine learning solutions that mitigate business risks.

This role offers an opportunity to work across the entire stack with a focus on risk and underwriting back-end, learn from experienced engineers, and drive the creation of innovative financial products and experiences for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, design, and maintain Flex's decision platform and machine learning solutions to mitigate business risks.
  • Architect well-thought-out services and data models that ensure Flex's continued growth and scalability.
  • Own problems end-to-end, considering api contracts, data, scalability, security, observability, and metrics.
  • Lead by example and mentor engineers in planning, development, testing, and best-in-class technology frameworks.
  • Collaborate with the servicing team to resolve complex technical issues.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, NodeJS+Typescript with server and data platform design principles.
  • An understanding and interest in architectural patterns for highly available, scalable, low-latency, asynchronous systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to hold oneself and others to high standards, prioritize tasks, and manage competing demands.
  • Experience with cloud-based providers like Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure, and knowledge of modular monoliths and micro-services.
  • Four or more years of relevant industry experience, shipping high-quality products and features at scale.
