We are seeking a highly skilled Employment Counsel to manage employment matters across Latin America, driving compliance and growth for our operations in the region.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert legal advice on employment law matters throughout Latin America, ensuring high-quality guidance and support.
- Assist in developing creative approaches to managing legal risks and resolving disputes, leveraging expertise to drive business success.
- Partner with departments to build scalable and compliant processes and templates, promoting efficiency and best practices.
- Maintain current knowledge of national and local laws across the region, staying up-to-date on changing regulations and requirements.
- Assist with and supervise employment-related disputes and litigation, including liaison work with outside counsel.
- Participate in creating and delivering training related to employment law matters, sharing expertise and building capacity within the team.
- Potentially manage up to 2-4 other attorneys, providing leadership and guidance to support team success.
- Qualified to practice law in Brazil or another jurisdiction in the LATAM region, with a strong understanding of regional employment laws and regulations.
- 5-8 years of combined employment law experience, including law firm practice and/or in-house roles, with a proven track record of success.
- Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail, with expertise in drafting and negotiating employment termination agreements.
- Demonstrated ability to make recommendations on difficult and sensitive labor and employee relations matters, showcasing sound judgment and discretion.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English and Portuguese, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
- Ability to speak Spanish is a strong advantage, with language proficiency enhancing candidate suitability.
- Sound legal judgment, creative problem-solving ability, and analytical skills, with the capacity to think critically and make informed decisions.
- Able to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines, with excellent time management and organizational skills.
We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
