Job Title: Data Architecture Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architecture Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to work on innovative projects that empower teams with insightful analytics.

About the Role:

This role will involve designing and implementing data ingestion processes into Google BigQuery using Fivetran, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. You will also define and build the semantic layer for our data platform using DBT to facilitate user-friendly reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage data ingestion processes into Google BigQuery using Fivetran, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Define and build the semantic layer for our data platform using DBT to facilitate user-friendly reporting and analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement appropriate data models.
  • Develop and optimize ETL processes to enhance data flow and maintain high performance in data operations.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, workflows, and transformations.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues related to data ingestion and transformation to ensure robust data availability.
  • Work with Looker to translate complex data into actionable insights through compelling visualizations and dashboards.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering
  • Proficient in Google BigQuery and experienced in setting up and managing data warehouses.
  • Strong skills in DBT, including defining data transformations and semantic layers.
  • Hands-on experience with Fivetran for data movement across diverse data sources.
  • Solid understanding of ETL processes and data modeling best practices.
  • Proficient in SQL for querying and manipulating data effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
  • High level of English language proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Looker and creating interactive dashboards.
  • Experience in data governance and data quality management practices.
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and data lakes would be an asset.
  • College degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting
